DESIGN CASE STUDY: LOGO, IDENTITY & PACKAGE DESIGN.

Client : Gentri Watson — Singer, songwriter and musician.
Description : Identity and branding for a music CD and related promotional material.
Challenges : To create an image the artist can identify with, which also ties to the style of music and can be recreated on several different promotional items.
Solution : The original concepts we created had the general feel of the music. However, in use they were simply too harsh for the overall image of the artist. We opted to redesign the logo to be softer by using a similar, more delicate typeface and more graceful and simplified line elements. The CD packaging is designed around an aged parchment with illustrated desert scenes. The old feel of the paper married with a more modern illustration style mirrors the new twist Gentri places on an older genera of music. The desert scene was chosen based on lyrics from one of the music tracks, which holds a special place in the artist's heart.
